Pam wins 2018 CGAR Essay Prize

Pamela Reed’s essay Attitude and Action: Holiness of Heart and Hands in Luke 10 won her the 2018 Sydney College of Divinity Centre for Gospels and Acts Research Essay Prize.

The Centre for Gospels and Acts Research (CGAR) creates networks among scholars working in the field of Gospels and Acts research and aims to encourage the next generation of Gospels and Acts researchers. The Centre publishes The Journal of Gospels and Acts Research.

Each year it offers a monetary prize for an excellent essay on a subject related to the Gospels or Acts submitted by a Sydney College of Divinity student. The recipient of the Prize is invited to present a version of the essay in a forum of the CGAR.

Pam joined the 2018 July Quarterly meeting of the Centre, for a discussion of her essay. entitled ‘Attitude and Action: Holiness of Heart and Hands in Luke 10’. As part of the discussion, the Quarterly meeting noted the interesting connection between God’s mercy and hospitality.

Pam received the prize at the Sydney College of Divinity Graduation on 18 May 2019.

Pamela Reed is an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Australia. She completed a Master of Divinity and is currently studying towards a Master of Theology.Pam also has qualifications as a Speech Pathologist and a Teacher, and is experienced in working with children and adults with disabilities.

Pam along with her husband Barry jointly pastor a Wesleyan Methodist Church on Coochiemudlo Island in the Brisbane area.
