Congratulations to Jason Israel, winner of the inaugural Sydney College of Divinity Centre for Gospels and Acts Research Essay Prize. He won the 2017 Prize for his essay, The Prologue’s Imagery of Light and Darkness to Understand the Remainder of John’s Gospel.

The Centre creates networks among scholars working in the field of Gospels and Acts research. It also publishes The Journal of Gospels and Acts Research.  In addition, the Centre encourages the next generation of Gospels and Acts researchers. One way in which it does this is by offering a monetary prize for an excellent essay on a subject related to the Gospels or Acts submitted by a Sydney College of Divinity student.

Jason received the SCD Centre for Gospels and Acts Research Essay Prize at the Sydney College of Divinity Graduation Ceremony on 14 April 2018.
