Stefano Salemi currently holds (full level E) Professorship and Research Supervisor status at the Sydney College of Divinity, and is a scholar of biblical studies, languages, and theology. He is a Departmental Tutor at the University of Oxford and has also held or continues to hold research and/or teaching posts at various universities, including Harvard, Yale, Oxford, King’s College London, University of London, Chichester University, Pretoria University, North-West University, Sheffield University, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He possesses the rare expertise of someone with multiple doctorates from the UK and Italy in Theology and Biblical Studies. He teaches, conducts research, and publishes in these fields of studies, with particular interests in biblical exegesis, hermeneutics, Hebrew and Greek languages and semantics, biblical theology, systematic-historical theology, reception history, and intertextual studies. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).

Currently working on

Stefano is the chief founding editor of the SCM book series Biblical Intertextuality and of the open-access, peer-reviewed journal Integrated Biblical and Theological Studies. He is also one of the founding chairs of the SBL unit Connecting John. In addition to these roles, he actively contributes to various research and editorial projects while holding research appointments at multiple international institutions.

 

He is currently working on a project for a volume for the New Cambridge Bible Commentary series, alongside several other forthcoming publications. His broad expertise in both biblical and theological studies is reflected in his extensive and ongoing scholarly contributions, as well as in his research conducted over the years at Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Jerusalem, and other universities.
