The Missionary Movements of Titus

Paul’s letters, like the book of Acts, depict the apostle and others predominantly on the move. Mapping the apostolic companions along with their movements allows for the patterns and chronology of the earliest Christian mission to come into clearer focus. This is especially so if the evidence of Paul’s letters and that of the book of Acts are taken to be mutually illuminating. As a contribution towards this larger project, this paper will explore the movements of Titus as part of the earliest mission to the nations. It will examine the evidence of Galatians, Corinthians, 2 Timothy, and Titus, before also exploring the apparent absence of any explicit mention of Titus in the Book of Acts.
