About this college

The Australian College of Christian Studies (ACCS) delivers the listed undergraduate and postgraduate coursework awards in Korean.

Sydney Korean Theological College (SKTC) began in 2010 and is now a department of ACCS and provides the opportunity for people to study theology in the Korean language within Australia, an English-speaking country, and earn a degree officially recognised by the Australian government.

The awards are approved for both local and overseas students, and are suitable for Koreans

– who do not have the language qualification to undertake these studies in English
– who prefer to study in their first language.

The Korean academic faculty come from various Reformed church backgrounds. Intensive lectures are often delivered by visiting lecturers from Korea. SKTC has established partnerships for academic and cultural exchanges with leading theological educational institutes in Korea –  Soongsil University, Chongshin University and Theological Seminary, Sungkyul University, Kosin University, Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary, Seoul Bible Graduate School of Theology, and Asia United Theological University.

Choosing Australian College of Christian Studies

The Theology and Education Goals of ACCS:

We believe in God who is revealed in the Bible, our Savior Jesus Christ who came to earth as the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit whom He sent, and we receive historical orthodox Reformed Theology as our theology.

We pursue a sound ecumenical theology that works together with other Christian churches that accepts the Nicene Creed. It is a partnership in a mission-minded approach that extends the Lord’s kingdom, acknowledging the diverse characteristics in faith of different denominations and the diversity of methodology in theological pursuits. This is the position of the Australian College of Christian Studies Sydney Korean Theological College.

Based on the positive achievements of Korean churches, we aim to nurture balanced Christian intellectuals and trustworthy devoted Christian workers who pursue the renewal of Australia, the country where we live, and Australian churches, and the services of all the nations.

We are a non profit educational institution that teaches Sydney College of Divinity awards accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency(TEQSA) of the Commonwealth Government of Australia. We seek a high level of education without seeking a financial gain.

The Korean awards aim to

– prepare future pastors and leaders for the Korean church in Australia,
– educate Koreans who wish to understand the Christian faith better; and
– train scholars who will be able to teach theological studies to future generations

Please note that some courses may not be available for enrolment every year, please refer to the college’s website to see their offering for the current year.

Our library currently holds approximately 12,600 volumes of Korean theological books and 22,600 volumes of excellent English books. It is a hybrid library that also offers digital services including Online Journals and Ebook Resources. Additionally, we provide pastoral content and library facilities not only to English-speaking pastors, including those from the Brethren denominations, but also to all Korean ministers. This support helps enrich the academic and spiritual lives of local church members and Christian leaders.

In response to the changing needs of 21st century and its users, our library continues to evolve not just as a space for accessing resources, but as a venue for generating various academic and cultural activities.

Korean resources are also available at its Brisbane and Melbourne campuses. For more information contact the librarian.
