Dr Linda M. Stargel is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. She has over 20 years of experience in children’s and youth ministry. She has served in pastoral ministry in Montreal and in theological education in Quebec, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. She also has 30 years of experience as a nurse. She competed her doctoral studies at the Nazarene Theological College, Manchester (UK) in 2016. Her thesis examined the retold exodus stories of the Old Testament and their capacity to construct a long-term collective identity for ancient Israel. She and her husband (Scott) moved to Australia in January 2019. She has two adult children in the USA (Nick & Bec).

Linda serves as Academic Dean and Senior Lecturer in Biblical Studies and Biblical Languages at the Nazarene Theological College, Australia. Her research interests are in retold exodus stories, social memory and identity, narrative art, prophetic literature, and Amos. She is a Research Fellow of the Manchester Wesley Research Centre and a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Australasian Centre for Wesleyan Research.
