Learning Outcomes

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  1. Discern and describe key biblical and theological frameworks relating to transformational development.
  2. Articulate an understanding of the Western context, issues of the developing world and the environment into which a community development response is offered.
  3. Develop the key features of a coherent model for community development.
  4. Assess the skills and competencies required for effective engagement in community development programming by NGOs and churches.
  5. Apply the principles learned to a specific transformational development context showing possible development pathways.
