Theological Issues of the Reformation
This postgraduate unit examines the major theological ideas converging upon, and emerging from, the Protestant Reformation. Attention will be given to the historical context of these developments. It examines selected works of Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, Tyndale, Cranmer and Arminius

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this unit students will be able to:
- identify the major theological strands converging at the Reformation period
- articulate a nuanced understanding of the similarities and differences of the various Reformers’ ideas
- analyse source materials of the Reformation period
- evaluate the major doctrinal themes of the Protestant Reformers such as Justification, Grace and Election, the Church
- creatively apply insights from the Reformation to contemporary faith and practice
