Theological Education Project

This unit is designed to provide students with an opportunity to apply and evaluate the principles and practices of theological teaching in a specific experiential context pertinent to their own professional setting. This course unit permits students to design and implement a project of their own choosing in consultation with the lecturer.

Prerequisites

18 Credit points of D units, including D8501 Principles of Theological Education.
Current or previous experience as a theological educator in the tertiary sector (GCThEd Regulations, 1.1.3).

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  1. analyse the distinctive ethos of the professional context of the project;
  2. provide a cogent theoretical and pedagogical rationale for the project;
  3. design and implement a teaching program in their professional context;
  4. evaluate the design and/or the implementation of programs developed by peers;
  5. critically review and develop further their own projected program.
