Learning Outcomes

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  1. articulate a coherent expression of the principles undergirding the effective practice of pastoral supervision
  2. explain how a deeper pastoral understanding may inform human experiences (e.g., trauma; grief; suffering; mid-life; sin; forgiveness; meaning; etc.)
  3. critically analyse how such pastoral considerations are manifested in professional supervisory situations
  4. utilise reflective practice as a means of improving the self-awareness, coping and flourishing of those being pastorally supervised
  5. apply the principles of pastoral supervision to their current work or ministry situation.
