Personal Growth for Ministry in Context
The unit Personal Growth for Ministry in Context (CALD) provides the student with an awareness of their own spiritual and emotional health, assisting them to develop skills and techniques for achieving their own maturity, and working with others to enhance this most primary of resources for Christian ministry in their context.
This unit is available only to candidates enrolled in the BTh/BMin (CALD Stream).

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this unit students will be able to:
- use culturally appropriate communication skills to explain the types of stress and their potential impact on ministers’ psychological health and wellbeing
- analyse their own emotional health and spiritual well-being to develop growing self-awareness
- appraise their own evolving spirituality and leadership development and the impact that each has in their context of ministry
- evaluate practices and disciplines that build a sustainable and resilient ministry within their cultural context
- establish a “rule of life” suitable for their cultural context which integrates practices of spirituality and leadership in both life and ministry.
