At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  1. critically demonstrate a working model of conscience in the Church
  2. demonstrate an advanced understanding of the contribution of contemporary psychological theories to an understanding of the functioning of conscience
  3. critique contemporary pastoral practice of moral development
  4. apply this knowledge to enhance the understanding of moral decision making
  5. apply this knowledge to an enhanced understanding of the functioning of the conscience and moral decision-making within the Christian tradition.
