Introduction to Personal Transformation

This undergraduate unit allows students to explore the foundational role Christian transformation has in reframing how we see God, ourselves and others. The unit will look at Christian models of personal transformation, the role of grace, the significance of authentic and false narratives, the particular role of the Holy Spirit in the transformation process, and serving and leading from the perspective of transformed selves.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  1. Articulate a sustainable model of personal transformation that is based on the life of Jesus
  2. Explain the role of grace in the process of being and becoming a child of God
  3. Analyse the role of narratives in establishing identity and shaping relations to God and others
  4. Analyse the ways in which personal transformation impacts serving and leading
  5. Develop a Christian framework for the distinctive role of the Holy Spirit in the transformation process.
