Introduction to Christian Education
This unit introduces the field of Christian education by providing opportunity to understand theory and design instruction within a Christian perspective. It studies the biblical, theological and historical foundations of Christian education, the purposes and objectives of Christian education, learning and teaching theory and models, factors affecting a model of Christian education for Australasia and the South Pacific, and the development of a model of Christian education in a local ministry context.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this unit students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of the biblical, theological and historical foundations of Christian education
- demonstrate a knowledge of the purposes and objectives of Christian education
- evaluate how the diversity of contexts affects the delivery of Christian education
- reflect upon various teaching and learning models appropriate for application in Christian education
- apply the results of their study to Christian discipleship and ministry preparation.
