Interpersonal Conversation

The introductory unit Interpersonal Conversation equips students with the skills and knowledge required to engage in effective, oral, inter-personal communication in the context of Christian ministry. It is intended to develop skills in encouragement, feedback, confrontation and leadership, while developing frameworks for effective, challenging and inspiring conversations.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate mastery of theoretical knowledge on the role of human experience, emotion and trust in interpersonal communication
  2. Analyse and interpret a variety of approaches to the practice of interpersonal conversation
  3. Use communication skills to design and implement activities that contribute towards professional practice in the area of interpersonal communication
  4. Evaluate a complex situation using the theory and practice of interpersonal conversation
  5. Investigate, analyse and synthesise information, problems, concepts and/or theories of interpersonal communication and apply to specific ministry situations.
