Intercultural Competence and Spiritual Well-Being

This graduate unit is designed to enhance the personal and spiritual development of students in preparation for cross-cultural ministry. Particular emphasis is given to anthropological principles, understanding one’s own cultural perspective and strategies for developing spiritual well-being within a cross-cultural setting.

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  1. analyse how cross-cultural engagement impacts upon personal spiritual formation
  2. develop a coherent theological understanding on why participating in the life and mission of God is crucial to spiritual well-being
  3. critically assess personal spiritual practices
  4. substantiate a case for the positive impact of personal spirituality on mission effectiveness
  5. formulate strategies for developing spiritual well-being in a cross-cultural context.
