Educational Theory and Practice in Pastoral Supervision

This postgraduate unit  will enables the development of an educational theory to support practice as a pastoral supervisor in the context of Clinical Pastoral Education. It includes theories of adult education, the learning contract, skills for self-awareness, active listening, pastoral supervisory strategies and interventions, and the workplace as a context for learning.

  2. design and critically evaluate appropriate learning contexts
  3. establish a reflective practice within the context of pastoral supervision
  4. create and evaluate the various components of clinical pastoral education into learning opportunities
  5. demonstrate the integration of their educational theory with their supervisory practice
