Prerequisites

Pre-requisite or corequisite unit: D8501 Principles of Theological Education.
Current or previous experience as a theological educator in the tertiary sector.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  1. Identify emergent social, educational and political issues which have the capacity to influence theological education;
  2. Articulate the degree of consonance and/or dissonance between the philosophical/historical basis of these issues with the principles of theological education;
  3. Analyse the immediate and potential impact on theological education of these issues;
  4. Evaluate a variety of actual or potential responses to the challenges presented by these issues;
  5. Establish strategies for the engagement of theological education with the identified issues.
