Clinical Pastoral Education 2
This postgraduate unit seeks to build on the first foundational unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. It anticipates there will be a deepening awareness of the dynamics operating in pastoral ministry and a greater appreciation of the reflective process. The unit includes spiritual assessment, cultural sensitivity, theological reflection, pastoral interventions and plans, ethical issues, and grief and loss.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this unit students will be able to:
- reflect critically on the relational dynamics occurring in pastoral conversations
- demonstrate a capacity to listen reflectively using a variety of pastoral interventions including empathy
- articulate the theological foundation that informs their ministry
- evaluate the usefulness of a variety of spiritual assessment instruments
- demonstrate an integration of their theology with their ministry practice
