Biblical Hebrew
This postgraduate unit is a continuation of A8510 Introduction to Biblical Hebrew. It consolidates and builds on the knowledge of Biblical Hebrew gained in the introductory unit enabling translation and exegesis of Hebrew Biblical texts. It introduces more complex forms of Biblical Hebrew grammar and syntax. It involves the lexical and grammatical study of selected Hebrew texts, translation of texts and the independent use of Biblical Hebrew/English dictionaries and concordances.
All A units are not included in the structure of Majors or Sub-majors (UG studies) or in concentration or specialisation (PG studies).

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this unit students will be able to:
- expand their memorized Hebrew vocabulary
- recognize more advanced Biblical Hebrew grammar and syntax
- translate, parse and analyse more complex Biblical Hebrew
- use Biblical Hebrew dictionaries and concordances with greater facility
- read critical exegetical commentaries on biblical Hebrew texts with greater facility
