Learning Outcomes

Upon the successful completion of this unit the student will be able to:

  1. Give an account of the environment of accounting generally and within the non-profit religious sector in Australia (e.g., a local church, denomination, hospital, welfare agency, advocacy group, school, etc.)
  2. Explain the application and requirements of the accounting framework including the Australian Accounting Standards and Auditing Standards
  3. Reflect personally on how God works effectively through those with the gift of administration
  4. Prepare, analyse and interpret financial statements applicable to a small to a medium non-profit religious organisation in Australia (Balance Sheet, Income and Expenditure Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows)
  5. Apply the use of administrative data to effectively pursue mission and ministry.
