Sydney College of Divinity is a leading higher education provider of theological degrees in English and Korean. Our courses range from an introductory level one-year diploma to an in-depth masters program. We focus on the disciplines of Biblical Studies, Christian Life and Ministry, Humanities in the Christian Tradition, and Theology.

We have study programs to suit people with different learning backgrounds, both academic and professional. Our course structures allow students to choose units and shape their learning to achieve their purpose for study, be it for ordained ministry, lay service, integration with their professional work and/or for personal growth.

To study a Sydney College of Divinity award students must enrol with one of our teaching colleges, each with its rich and varied Christian tradition and heritage. Our ecumenical identity means that you can learn about that which is different. You can take a peep out of your provincial perspective and open yourself to the bigger picture.

Study a Higher Degree by Research

When Sydney College of Divinity received self-accrediting status in 2016, the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) praised our strong research ethos, noting our ‘history of sustained scholarship’, which ‘impacts positively on teaching’, and our ‘active scholarly community’, which exists in a ‘supportive, collaborative environment’.

The Sydney College of Divinity continues to build on its strong research ethos and has a vibrant research culture expressed both in institutional research and in research training.

The Sydney College of Divinity Graduate Research School delivers four Higher Degree by Research awards to domestic and international students. The College has one of the largest bodies of theological research active faculty and the SCD Library comprising of ten libraries has extensive physical and digital collections – together they provide students comprehensive resources for their research studies. Current Student

Students studying a Sydney College of Divinity award are enrolled with one of our colleges. Current students should contact the college Registrar for all information regarding study, student support services, re-enrolment, and graduation. The Registrar is the first point of contact for study enquiries.

If you enrolled in a Sydney College of Divinity award prior to 2022, you are eligible to graduate under the pre-2022 award regulations. Your Registrar can help you with your questions and concerns.

About Us

The Sydney College of Divinity has seven Member Institutions delivering its undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework) awards in English.

The Sydney College of Divinity through the Graduate Research School and the Korean School of Theology delivers its postgraduate (research) awards, and the Korean undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework) awards respectively.

Our awards are accredited by TEQSA. We offer diverse options as you can enrol in a college of your choice and study units across any Member Institution college while enrolled in a degree with one college. Students can enrol in intensives delivered at any college and learn from guest lecturers who are often internationally acclaimed scholars.

Our Member Institutions are established colleges who have been teaching theology for decades. Together, Sydney College of Divinity and its Member Institutions, celebrate faith in Christ and life in the Spirit and you as a student will be a part of it as you experience the ecumenical nature of Sydney College of Divinity.
