Information for students enrolled in a course Pre-2022

ⓘ This information is for students enrolled in an undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework) award in 2021 and prior

The Sydney College of Divinity has introduced a new curriculum from the beginning of the 2022 academic year. For students who have enrolled in an award in 2021 and prior, SCD provides two options.

  1. students can remain under the old program regulations, OR
  2. students can opt in to the new curriculum.**

Students will not be disadvantaged by remaining under the pre-2022 program regulations. Opting in to the new curriculum is provided as an option by SCD as it may suit some students’ preferences. For most students opting in to the new curriculum should present no difficulties.

**Subdisciplines: Christian Ethics (E) and Worship & Liturgy (L)

Subdisciplines Christian Ethics (E) and Worship & Liturgy (L) have moved from the discipline of Christian Life & Ministry in the pre-2022 program regulations to the discipline of Theology under the new curriculum. For students who wish to count units from the subdisciplines of Christian Ethics and Worship & Liturgy towards a Christian Life & Ministry submajor/major/specialisation, would have to remain under the pre-2022 program regulations.

Support

The registrar of your enrolled college is the point of contact for information. Registrars can guide students in identifying units that are the same as under the old curriculum but with different unit codes. Students who want to count units from the subdisciplines of Christian Ethics and Worship & Liturgy towards a Christian Life & Ministry submajor/major/specialisation should speak to their registrar. SCD recommends that all students make informed decisions after speaking to their registrar.
