2020 Research Writers Workshops
SCD Faculty Workshops
Research Writers Workshops, organised by the Graduate Research School, seek to promote quality research within the Sydney College of Divinity (SCD). These workshops offer SCD faculty members the opportunity to turn their good ideas into publishable outputs targeting quality international journals.
In 2020 there will be two workshops. The first one is open only to the Sydney College of Divinity faculty. For the second workshop there will be equal participation from both SCD and our colleagues in the Australian College of Theology.
The workshops will be run on the following dates:
- August 27-28
- October 29-30
Participants will be mentored by two/three internationally recognised scholars who will assist the faculty in building up their ideas, shaping them into a research paper, and submitting this paper to a quality journal. This exercise will be in the company of other of other faculty members such as yourself seeking the same goal. The workshop is limited to eight participants together with the two/three senior researchers.
Participation for faculty will be on the basis of a submitted 500 words research proposal. The research proposal should outline the idea the participant would like to work on and the approach the individual will take. If the workshop is oversubscribed candidates will be chosen on a selective basis, to be decided by the SCD Research Office.
For information about the latest workshop and to submit a research proposal visit the Graduate Research School site.
Cost of participation is nil, including accommodation and meals. The location is easily accessed by public transport and has ample on-site and on-street parking.
