Why study at SCD?

The Sydney College of Divinity is a leading Christian theological provider, offering high quality, accredited awards to equip people for effective professional and lay ministry in a rapidly changing environment. In 2016 it was granted self-accrediting authority by the Commonwealth Government’s Tertiary Education Standards and Quality Agency.

The SCD has been operating since 1983 and has produced 5573 graduates with undergraduate and postgraduate awards and also research degrees. The SCD operates through a number of Member Institutions, individual theological colleges that represent a wide range of Christian denominations and traditions. The bringing together of these different traditions has resulted in greater knowledge of and deeper respect amongst both students and staff for the various ways of interpreting and living the Christian Gospel. This ecumenical spirit allows SCD students to study within the one denomination or across a range of denominations and have all the units count towards the completion of their degree.

Students can choose to study from a range of courses in full-time or part-time mode. Our colleges are equipped with excellent learning technologies to offer a range of flexible learning options, including conventional classroom study, online study, virtual learning through live-streaming, and mixed-mode options.
