The SCD is committed to continuous improvement of its learning and teaching. One way we do this is by collecting, analysing and using feedback to help us improve.
We collect and analyse student feedback through regular Student Feedback Surveys, which are conducted by our Member Institutions every teaching period.
We also participate in the Australian Graduate Surveys which surveys new graduates from all Australian universities, and a number of higher education institutes and colleges, approximately four months after they complete the requirements for their awards.
Evaluation and Revision of Teaching
Each time a course unit is offered, a Course Unit Booklet is prepared for students. In preparing these Booklets teachers are asked to indicate in the Course Unit Booklet the date of the last revision and how this revision took account of student and peer feedback.
Evaluation of Distance and Online Offerings
We recognise that learning and teaching at a distance, or using online technologies presents different demands and challenges for both teachers and students. For this reason, our Member Institutions that offer distance or online courses are required to undertake an extensive evaluation of these according to our identified quality indicators: institutional support; pedagogy,design & delivery; learner support; technological support; faculty support and development; and regular evaluation and review. These evaluations are undertaken every two years.
